O objetivo deste livro é abordar uma questão que continua a ser debatida na literatura sobre gestão. Trata-se da utilização dos Balanced Scorecards na gestão do desempenho hospitalar. Num contexto marcado pela falta de estudos sobre a construção de balanced scorecards nos hospitais e pela falta de dados relativos à gestão da atividade hospitalar realizada no serviço de urgência do CHR AL GHASSANI, o objetivo deste trabalho é propor uma abordagem para a implementação de um balanced scorecard. Esta abordagem permitirá melhorar os estudos de gestão do desempenho hospitalar, na ausência de uma estratégia específica para este serviço. E melhorar a qualidade dos cuidados prestados aos doentes nos serviços de urgência em particular. Tendo em conta o exposto, este estudo utiliza um quadro teórico e concetual relativo à gestão do desempenho hospitalar. A versão proposta do PDD pode ser utilizada pelos gestores hospitalares.
