An der College Farm der Landwirtschaftlichen Hochschule Navsari in Bharuch, Gujarat, wurde ein Feldversuch durchgeführt, um die „Auswirkungen von Unkrautbekämpfung und Düngemitteleinsatz bei Regenbaumwolle (Gossypium hirsutum L.) unter den Bedingungen in Süd-Gujarat' während der Kharif-Saison 2020-21 und 2021-22 zu bewerten. Der Versuch wurde als faktorielles randomisiertes Blockdesign mit zwei Faktoren, insgesamt zehn Behandlungskombinationen und drei Wiederholungen angelegt. Die Faktoren umfassten: Fünf Unkrautbekämpfungsmaßnahmen, d. h. zweimaliges Jäten von Hand und Zwischenfruchtanbau bei 30 und 60 Tagen nach Aussaat (W1), Pendimethalin 1,00 kg/ha PE fb Jäten von Hand und Zwischenfruchtanbau bei 60 Tagen nach Aussaat (W2), Pendimethalin 1,00 kg/ha als PE+ Dhaincha als Deckfrucht, geerntet und gemulcht bei 50 DAS (W3), Bodensolarisation mit transparenter Plastikfolie (LDPE 50 μm) für 6 Wochen im April und Mai + einmaliges Handjäten bei 60 DAS (W4), Unkrautfreie Kontrolle (W5) und zwei Düngungsstufen, d. h. F1: 75 % RDF und F2: 100 % RDF. Das Experiment wurde zwei Jahre in Folge mit derselben Randomisierung durchgeführt.
