I chili Naga sono tra i più piccanti al mondo. Viene coltivato in Nagaland e in altre zone dell’India nord-orientale. Il carattere del peperoncino è dovuto a un’ammina fenolica volatile, la capsaicina, una molecola responsabile della piccantezza del peperoncino e che si trova principalmente nella placenta e nel tessuto carnoso del frutto. Peperoncino Naga, nome biologico Capsicum chinense, appartenente alla famiglia delle Solanaceae. Si tratta di ortaggi della stagione calda, facili da coltivare se dotati di pieno sole, calore e terreno fertile con un buon drenaggio. I semi di Capsicum chinense sono un po’ più lenti a germogliare rispetto agli altri peperoni. Le piante preferiscono condizioni molto calde e i frutti possono richiedere un po’ più di tempo per maturare, soprattutto nei climi temperati.
