A entrada no ambiente acadêmico é caracterizada por caminhos desafiadores, onde se idealiza um momento especial no qual o indivíduo passará a estudar aquilo para o que foi vocacionado. Além disso, expectativas são criadas a respeito de mais um projeto de vida a ser iniciado, ou seja, uma ótima conciliação com os estudos e a rotina pessoal, a obtenção de estágios de qualificação profissional, estrutura de estudos adequada, entre outras. Ao deparar-se com a realidade, as idealizações iniciais começam a ser desfeitas em detrimento das dificuldades existentes e vivenciadas pelos estudantes. A descoberta da realidade universitária é um dos fatores pelos quais a maioria dos estudantes já passou. Dessa forma, foi proposta a investigação das motivações e frustrações dos alunos do Curso de Ciências Biológicas da modalidade licenciatura, do CCEN/UFPB. Logo, levantou-se o perfil de 136 estudantes através de um questionário cuja coleta de dados ocorreu no período de março a abril de 2017, compreendendo assim o período de 2016.2. Logo,analisou-se as aspirações e decepções desses alunos. Nesse olhar, incluem-se a falta de didática dos professores, a frustração de um curso, entre outros.
