A psicopedagogia é uma área do conhecimento em contante desenvolvimento no país, com a nova configuração da educação no cenário nacional, assim como com a atual configuração socioeconômica brasileira, na qual todos estão inseridos na educação básica, não havendo seleção de indivíduos, além da política da inclusão, um cenário novo que nem todos os profissionais de educação e nem instituições de ensino ainda estão preparados, o que talvez explique o alto índice de reprovação, desistência, queda nos índices educacionais nacionais, também um aumento expressivo no número de alunos com dificuldades de aprendizagem. Dessa forma, pode-se observar a necessidade de um profissional capacitado para orientar e auxiliar as instituições de ensino e os trabalhadores da educação, inclusive os docentes a formularem ou mesmo reformularem o processo de ensino aprendizagem, melhorando assim os índices educacionais e diminuindo o número de desistência e reprovação escolar.
