Le architetture di gestione del trasferimento localizzato svolgono un ruolo importante nelle reti wireless per fornire un servizio di qualità agli utenti in movimento. Fondamentalmente, i meccanismi di handoff si basano sui livelli di potenza ricevuti e vengono avviati quando la stazione base di servizio non è in grado di fornire risorse o potenza sufficienti durante la chiamata in corso. I nodi delle reti wireless sono basati sulla batteria; il rilevamento del livello di potenza dell’utente è un compito critico e consuma molte risorse. Per evitare questo scenario, in questo lavoro vengono proposti tre scenari di handoff: 1. handoff di struttura virtuale basato su timer; 2. handoff di cluster localizzato; e 3. handoff di overlay. Questi meccanismi assegnano nuovi canali o stazioni base e sono coinvolti nel processo di fornitura di una qualità di servizio sufficiente a ogni utente in base alla domanda. La prova è fornita da risultati numerici e di simulazione per analizzare parametri come handoff success ratio, throughput e ritardo.
