L’étude intitulée 'Publicité en ligne et mécénat de biens et de services dans l’État de Benue au Nigeria' avait pour objectif général d’évaluer la publicité en ligne et le mécénat de biens et de services parmi les habitants de l’État de Benue au Nigeria. L’étude a utilisé une approche qualitative et s’est servie d’un questionnaire comme instrument de collecte de données. L’étude a révélé que la plupart des personnes interrogées pensent que la publicité en ligne influence de manière significative la notoriété des marques des consommateurs dans l’État de Benue, bien que certaines ne soient pas d’accord ou restent indécises. Facebook est apparu comme la plateforme la plus populaire pour l’achat de biens et de services, les inquiétudes concernant la fraude, la méfiance et les produits de qualité inférieure étant des effets négatifs notables de la publicité en ligne. Dans l’ensemble, l’étude a révélé un niveau élevé d’utilisation et d’influence de la publicité en ligne dans l’État de Benue. La National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) et l’Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) devraient réglementer les plateformes de publicité en ligne qui permettent aux spécialistes du marketing de cibler des groupes démographiques et des intérêts spécifiques tout en sensibilisant les gens aux biens et services en ligne.
