Ad esempio, oltre a incidere su tutti i tipi di prodotti agricoli, siccità e inondazioni sono anche responsabili della perdita di vite umane e di beni materiali. Un ritardo o un prolungamento della pausa monsonica può avere effetti catastrofici. Pertanto, una solida comprensione della variabilità intra-stagionale e interannuale della climatologia delle precipitazioni può avere implicazioni sulla redditività della produzione agricola. Il presente libro si basa su uno studio condotto sulla variabilità delle precipitazioni e sull’analisi di probabilità dei dati pluviometrici degli ultimi 34 anni (1980-2013), con l’obiettivo principale di prevedere le precipitazioni annuali nel distretto di Allahabad.
