América Precolombina y colonial referencia aspectos de carácter histórico acaecidos en territorio americano. Se configura desde inquietudes al suceder pasado, y como se articulan las distintas culturas en una geografía diversa y extensa desconocida para los europeos hasta el siglo XV. De ese modo se presentan sucesos de las culturas azteca, maya y quechua; pero de igual modo, de los acontecimientos vividos por los exploradores y conquistadores europeos que hicieron de América su espacio nuclear, y que insigne fama les reportó en las páginas de la Historia universal. El texto se conforma, además, desde indagaciones a facetas escriturales como las desarrolladas por el poeta Nezahualcóyotl; al Chilam Balam, obra que relata los hechos y circunstancias históricas de la civilización maya. Igualmente, Alonso de Ercilla y Zúñiga y La Araucana, expone desde una épica eximia la guerra de los españoles contra los indios araucanos durante la conquista de Chile, en el siglo XVI.
