Desde hace tiempo el aprendizaje de la lectura y la escritura ha llamado la atención en los ámbitos escolares, hasta el punto que desde diferentes disciplinas del saber se han hecho propuestas para que el manejo escolar de las mismas sea más eficiente. Afianzar procesos lectoescritores desde la escuela, permitirá a los estudiantes interactuar con el mundo y conocerlo en una mejor manera, comprender su entorno, acceder a la búsqueda y entrega de información que día a día se convierten en una necesidad mayor; y en su actividad escolar, serán un medio de gran relevancia al momento de adquirir y mostrar conocimiento. El tema tratado durante este proyecto investigativo se relacionó con el afianzamiento lectoescritor de la lengua materna a través de la crónica urbana; tomando este tipo de texto de una forma innovadora y didáctica a la hora de fortalecer y afianzar procesos lectoescritores. Así, en este proyecto se encuentran plasmados y desglosados todos los aspectos concernientes, no sólo con el desarrollo de este proceso, sino que también, describe cómo fue el quehacer de los estudiantes, al tener como uno de los propósitos el mejorar su habilidad o competencia lectoescritora.
