'该书收录著名文学史家孔范今教授关于人文精神、人文主义思考的代表性论文。历史不是一元的线性发展，历史进步行为与人文文化尤其是具有丰富生命内涵的人文精神传统常常表现为一种逆向的复调结构。内容简介该书收录著名文学史家孔范今教授关于人文精神、人文主义思考的代表性论文。历史不是一元的线性发展，历史进步行为与人文文化尤其是具有丰富生命内涵的人文精神传统常常表现为一种逆向的复调结构。历史的进步常以人文精神传统不同程度的沦落为代价，而要保持人们生存或曰历史行进的健全发展，就须找回失落的东西作当代的强调。而文学，就常常承担着这一特殊的使命。《人文言说》一书以论文集的形式线性铺陈展示了作者近年来的思考，在1995年的《重新读解孔子的智慧》一文中，他对人文主义进行了历史溯源，指出孔子思想中蕴含的人文关怀在当下人文主义的建构中同样具有衍生性和时代意义。同年，在关于新世纪文学的发展思考中，作者指出文学的现实主义精神应该包括三项基本原则，无论是'完善人类生存的特殊责任感'和'对于人类的宽厚的爱心'还是'对于人类生存现实的独特关注与表现'都传达出他浓重的人文主义情怀。在2005年《中国现代新人文文学书系》一书的总序中，他力图为现代新人文主义正名，新人文主义是一种还未被研究者认识到的具有特定价值视域作用的文化倾向，作者以博学之识和缜密之思对其做了概念界定，追溯历史源头与发展脉络，并将人文主义在文学中的表现概括总结出具体的类型。作者简介孔范今（1942-2023），山东曲阜人。山东大学文学院教授。曾任山东大学中文系主任、文学院院长。著有《悖论与选择》《走出历史的峡谷》《重构对话》《近百年中国文学史论》等，主编有《中国现代文学补遗书系》《20世纪中国文学史》《中国现代文学史》《读中国》《百年大潮汐--20世纪中国思想解放运动文录》《中国现代新人文文学书系》等，合作主编有《中国新时期文学研究资料汇编》。
