多年来， 部分北大文革的亲历者已写出了数量不菲的文章。这些文章的内容涉及北大文革的多个阶段。但是， 亲历者在史实的认知和基本观点上存在着重大的差异。本书第一辑的作者都是校文革或新北大公社某一方面的负责人（ 或知情人） ， 其中有两位作者已经是90多岁的老人了。这些北大文革亲历者留下的文字， 值得后人认真研读。本书第二、三辑选用的文章， 显示了北大两派在基本观点上的重大差异。需要指出的是:'反聂派'中的艾群等人， 均为北大井冈山兵团的一般成员， 对北大文革中的一些情况并不真正了解。他们的观点和立场只能代表极少数人， 而不能代表广大的井冈山兵团群众。
