No âmbito do meu trabalho académico, realizei um estudo intitulado 'Utilização de um jogo de tabuleiro eletrónico para melhorar o desempenho dos alunos na escrita de símbolos químicos e números atómicos dos primeiros trinta elementos'. A investigação centrou-se nos alunos do primeiro ano de ciências da St John’s Grammar Senior High School, em Accra. John’s Grammar Senior High School, em Accra. Foi utilizado um modelo prático de investigação-ação, que incluiu observações, entrevistas, testes e questionários. Um pré-teste revelou primeiro os desafios dos alunos, o que serviu de base para o desenvolvimento de uma intervenção com um jogo de tabuleiro eletrónico. Após a implementação do jogo, um pós-teste revelou uma melhoria significativa na capacidade dos alunos para escreverem corretamente os símbolos químicos e os números atómicos. Os resultados demonstraram que os jogos educativos podem melhorar positivamente a aprendizagem da química. Por conseguinte, recomendo que os professores integrem jogos adequados nas suas estratégias de ensino para melhorar o empenho e o desempenho dos alunos.
