Neste trabalho, foram entrevistadas nove mulheres de origem afegã e analisados os seus processos de socialização, aprendizagem e educação. Após análise científica, foram identificados quatro tipos. Os temas principais são pátria, perda, papel da mulher, família, cultura, valores, identidade, autoimagem, educação, liberdade, paz, expectativas, desilusão, esperança, superação do dia a dia, integração e igualdade. Um resumo dos antecedentes históricos e socioculturais do Afeganistão, os resultados empíricos e suas possibilidades de aplicação pedagógica para o desenvolvimento dos processos de aprendizagem e educação, bem como sugestões para instituições de ensino e editoras, enquadram esta investigação.
