This book is about going above-and-beyond for your boss, your employer, your employees and the public, your customer. This was the order of the day at the Clayton Solicitor General’s Office. Although on any given day or moment we had to wear many hats to help the public, it was the synergy amongst the employees that made us dynamic. How common it is to hear the expression: 'Look out for No.1!' or to see the 'me first attitude.' However, during my years at the Clayton Solicitor General’s office I noticed heroes who exemplified the very opposite. For example, have you ever had a boss that thought you deserved the benefits of retirement? Maybe there was a team that came together to encourage and support you without your request? What about the boss that values you so much he or she rewards you with an afternoon off or a reward of your choice? What about a manager that is such a good leader, she welcomes you to the office with open arms, fills in all blanks every step of the way, never removing herself as your cheerleader and friend? What about the boss that thought you were capable of so much more? These are just a few of the special people I had the privilege of working with for over 12 years. Interestingly, you can find all of them in an unlikely place, a government office. I dedicate this book to them out of a heart full of appreciation.
