RESUMO O esgotamento é uma forma de tensão relacionada com o trabalho, resultado da acumulação de stress relacionado com o trabalho. A energia do trabalhador esgota-se, deixando-o sem recursos para realizar o trabalho. O esgotamento tem um impacto negativo no desempenho dos funcionários, causando preocupação entre funcionários e empregadores. O presente estudo procurou avaliar a sua influência na prestação de serviços entre professores de faculdades de formação médica no Quénia. O estudo adotou um desenho de pesquisa transversal. A população-alvo foi composta por 110 professores das faculdades de Nakuru, Thika e Murang’a. A amostra foi composta por 100 professores de faculdades de formação médica. Foram utilizadas técnicas de amostragem aleatória simples na seleção de uma amostra representativa. Os dados coletados foram limpos, codificados e analisados usando o SPSS versão 20. As estatísticas descritivas foram apresentadas na forma de frequências e porcentagens. Os resultados revelaram altos níveis de esgotamento entre os professores de faculdades de medicina selecionadas no Quénia. O estudo recomendou a implementação de intervenções para reduzir o esgotamento entre os professores. Recomendou que a administração contratasse mais professores para equilibrar a proporção entre professores e alunos, melhorasse as instalações esportivas e abrisse centros de aconselhamento para os funcionários.
