Este livro investiga como os destinos turísticos se anunciam para o mercado LGBT e como são percebidos pelos homens gays. Foram realizadas duas pesquisas originais: uma análise de conteúdo de anúncios impressos de destinos turísticos direcionados a homens gays e entrevistas aprofundadas com 20 homens que se identificam como gays. São explorados dois tipos diferentes de anúncios: anúncios em vitrines para gays e anúncios que assumem abertamente a homossexualidade. São examinadas as diferentes pistas e códigos textuais e visuais desses anúncios, incluindo o arco-íris, o triângulo rosa, o olhar gay, a intimidade e a aceitação dos gays. É revisada a literatura de investigação sobre viagens gays, espaços gays nos destinos, motivação e segmentação do grupo-alvo. O valor do mercado gay e a história da publicidade gay são apoiados tanto por recursos académicos como por recursos empresariais atuais.
