Periphere arterielle Verschlusskrankheit (pAVK) ist ein Indikator für ein erhöhtes Risiko für kardiovaskuläre Ereignisse und eine schlechte Prognose bei Patienten mit koronarer Herzkrankheit (KHK). Die Prävalenz der unbekannten pAVK bei Patienten mit ACS variiert je nach Diagnosemethode zwischen den Studien. Zur Bewertung der Prävalenz der peripheren arteriellen Verschlusskrankheit (pAVK), die anhand des Knöchel-Arm-Index (ABI) diagnostiziert wird, bei ACS-Patienten mit Diabetes mit oder ohne Tabakkonsum und zur Beurteilung des Profils dieser Patienten; und zur Bestimmung von Prädiktoren für pAVK. Die Prävalenz der pAVK bei ACS war in der Bevölkerung von Bangladesch niedrig. Patienten mit pAVK und ACS stellen eine Hochrisikogruppe dar und benötigen mehr Aufmerksamkeit. pAVK mit ACS, insbesondere STEMI, ist ein unabhängiger Prädiktor für den Tod im Krankenhaus.
