Uno dei principali vantaggi dell’implementazione della tecnologia di virtualizzazione dei sistemi è l’isolamento fornito dalla piattaforma di virtualizzazione. Aumenta la sicurezza quando il guest infetto o compromesso non ha alcun effetto sugli altri guest in esecuzione e sulla macchina host stessa. Tale incapsulamento rende sconosciuto lo stato attuale del sistema guest. Abbiamo proposto e implementato un nuovo approccio per monitorare le macchine virtuali. L’idea consiste semplicemente nell’avere un monitor centralizzato e agenti mobili. Gli agenti mobili saranno distribuiti tra le macchine virtuali in esecuzione; ogni macchina ospiterà un agente. Il monitor controllerà continuamente lo stato di salute e la disponibilità delle macchine remote e recupererà automaticamente quelle contrassegnate come non sane/non disponibili (crash).
