Niniejsze badanie analizuje wpływ korzystania z Internetu na wczesną inicjację seksualną wśród nastolatków i młodych ludzi w mieście Parakou, wykorzystując dane z ankiety przeprowadzonej w 2022 r. przez Ecole Nationale de Statistique de Planification et de Démographie. Badanie koncentrowało się na technologiach informacyjno-komunikacyjnych oraz dynamice zachowań seksualnych i społecznych w mieście Parakou. Dane analizowano na trzech poziomach: jednoczynnikowym, dwuczynnikowym i wieloczynnikowym (modele regresji logistycznej). 11 na 100 nastolatków i młodych ludzi w wieku 15-34 lat w Parakou doświadczyło wczesnej inicjacji seksualnej. Gdy wiek, w którym dana osoba ma dostęp do Internetu wzrasta o jeden, prawdopodobieństwo odbycia wczesnego stosunku seksualnego spada o 9%. Cechy społeczno-demograficzne, takie jak poziom wykształcenia, religia, płeć i stan cywilny okazały się być czynnikami związanymi z wczesną inicjacją seksualną, podczas gdy presja społeczna, wpływ mediów i pieniądze były głównymi czynnikami motywującymi nastolatków i młodych ludzi do angażowania się w PSI.
