Ogólne korzyści płynące z bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych (BIZ) dla gospodarek wschodzących są dobrze udokumentowane. Przy odpowiedniej polityce kraju przyjmującego i podstawowym poziomie rozwoju, różne badania pokazują, że BIZ powodują transfer technologii, umożliwiają tworzenie kapitału ludzkiego, poprawiają integrację handlu międzynarodowego, pomagają stworzyć bardziej konkurencyjne środowisko biznesowe i poprawiają rozwój przedsiębiorstw. Wszystko to skutkuje wyższym wzrostem gospodarczym, który jest kluczowym narzędziem w walce z ubóstwem w krajach rozwijających się. W niniejszym badaniu przeanalizowano wpływ bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych na gospodarkę Kenii na podstawie danych dotyczących napływu BIZ i PKB w latach 2004-2013. Do analizy danych wykorzystano pakiet statystyczny Statistical Package for Social Sciences, w ramach którego przeprowadzono analizę opisową, analizę częstotliwości i analizę trendów, a także analizę wnioskową z wykorzystaniem analizy wariancji (ANOVA) i analizy korelacji w celu ustalenia zależności między zmiennymi. Graficzna analiza trendów FDI i PKB wykazuje bezpośredni pozytywny związek między tymi dwiema zmiennymi.
