In the early spring of 1820, Joseph Smith, Jr. claimed to have had an experience unlike any other ever recorded in human history. In his own words he states:'When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other-This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!' (JSH 1:17)Joseph Smith testified to the world that two resurrected human beings presented themselves before him, whom the rest of the world would recognize as God, the Father and His Son, Jesus, the Christ. He also said that the fullness of the everlasting Gospel was contained in it, as delivered by the Savior to the ancient inhabitants.'
