Die empirische Wachstumsliteratur zeigt, dass Humankapital und institutionelle Qualität das Wirtschaftswachstum positiv beeinflussen. Ein großer Teil dieser Literatur diskutiert jedoch über die vergleichende Bedeutung, die diese Variablen bei der Erklärung von Wachstumsunterschieden zwischen Nationen haben. Da diese Debatte jedoch ungelöst geblieben ist, soll in diesem Papier untersucht werden, ob die Auswirkungen des Humankapitals auf das Wachstum von der institutionellen Qualität der Länder abhängen. Außerdem wird untersucht, ob das Einkommensniveau der Länder die Auswirkungen des Humankapitals auf das Wirtschaftswachstum bei unterschiedlichen Niveaus der institutionellen Qualität beeinflusst. In dieser Studie wurde die Schätzmethode des dynamischen Systems Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) verwendet, um dem Problem einer kleinen Stichprobe, ausgelassener Variablen und Endogenität Rechnung zu tragen. Der marginale Beitrag der einzelnen Variablen wurde untersucht, um die Wirkung der Variablen klar zu verstehen. Infolgedessen hilft die Analyse den politischen Entscheidungsträgern in den Entwicklungsländern, ein besseres Modell zu entwerfen, um das Wirtschaftswachstum der Länder zu beeinflussen.
