Es gibt einen Überblick über die verfügbaren VAWT/HAWT, die Tragflügeltheorie und das Betzsche Gesetz. Darüber hinaus erläutert es die Bestimmung verschiedener Parameter im Zusammenhang mit Windenergie wie Druckverteilung, Druckkoeffizient, Windleistung, Auftrieb, Luftwiderstand usw. sowohl für symmetrische als auch für asymmetrische Tragflügelquerschnitte. Die Analyse der Druckverteilung und der Druckkoeffizientenverteilung wurde ebenfalls für verschiedene Tragflächenprofile dargestellt, um ein geeignetes für VAWT auszuwählen, und das Geschwindigkeitsprofil der Windgeschwindigkeit über dem Flügelquerschnitt wurde ebenfalls dargestellt. Abschließend wurde versucht, das weltweite Szenario der Windenergie unter Berücksichtigung verschiedener verfügbarer Berichte darzustellen.
