Darüber hinaus werden in dem Buch die Ökologie der Webervögel in den örtlichen landwirtschaftlichen Betrieben und ihre zerstörerische Wirkung auf die landwirtschaftlichen Kulturen erläutert sowie die Reaktionen der Landwirte auf die Schädlinge, die die Ernten beschädigen. Dr. Melle Ekane Maurice wurde am 15. Oktober 1974 in Bangem, Kamerun, geboren. Er hat an der Universität von Ibadan in Nigeria in Wildtiermanagement promoviert und hält derzeit Vorlesungen über Wildtiermanagement, Wildtierschutz, Wildtierökologie und Wildtiertourismus in der Abteilung für Umweltwissenschaften an der Universität von Buea, Kamerun.
