Das Buch analysiert die politischen Einstellungen eingebürgerter Personen auf der Grundlage bundesweit erhobener sowie lokaler Umfragedaten. Der Schwerpunkt der empirischen Analyse liegt auf dem Wahlverhalten der ,Neubürger’. Der Autor stellt die politischen Einstellungen der Gesamtheit der Neubürger und ihrer Untergruppen (v.a. Aussiedler, Arbeitsmigranten und deren Nachkommen) dar. Er kommt zum Ergebnis, dass die Wahlmuster eingebürgerter Personen prägnant sind und sich auch im Zeitverlauf und unter der Berücksichtigung des Integrationsgrades kaum abschwächen. Das Ergebnis legt eine stärkere Berücksichtigung des Migrationshintergrundes in Wahlanalysen nahe.
