JULIAN OF NORWICH wrote her book The Revelations of Divine Love in one small room in a back street in Norwich more than 600 years ago. What possible relevance could the writing of this 'unlettered woman' have for us, who live in a world so different that she would scarcely be able to recognise it? The question challenged Sheila Upjohn, and she embarked on a quest to discover why Julian's book has become so widely read today. Her journey became a personal voyage of discovery - which led her to explore, in Julian's company, the nature of God, of creation, prayer, sin, the devil - and much more. The lively traveller's tales she wrote on the journey are at once moving and profound.
