The book provides a scholarly investigation of the primary moral philosophical and foreign policy issues involved in a post 9/11 environment in which the United States has pursued a policy of preventive war and a less than optimal response to Islamist terrorism. The author endeavors to highlight the present problems and false assumptions while suggesting a way forward.
