„Vernacular Landscape Urbanism' ist ein neues, aber trendiges Konzept, das aus der Untersuchung aller einzelnen Komponenten (Vernacular Design, Landschaftsgestaltung und Urbanismus) abgeleitet wurde, um es als Instrument für die Stadterneuerung, insbesondere in Entwicklungsländern, zu rechtfertigen. Diese Studie basiert auf persönlichen Beobachtungen der negativen Auswirkungen der raschen Entwicklung und Überbevölkerung in Indien. Daher werden die aus dem Konzept abgeleiteten Prinzipien in Slums auf ihre Eignung für die Stadterneuerung getestet. Diese Studie erkennt die Bedeutung und die Zukunftsaussichten des „Vernacular Landscape Urbanism' an. Darüber hinaus kommt sie zu dem Schluss, dass es sich um einen gültigen und logischen Ansatz für die Stadterneuerung handelt.
