Fachhochschule Frankfurt am Main, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Demenzerkrankung ist eine degenerative Krankheit des Gehirns, über deren Gründe wir bis heute nur sehr wenig wissen. Eine Heilung ist in der Regel nicht möglich, Medikamente bewirkenallenfalls, dass der Fortschritt der Krankheit verlangsamt wird. Es gibt viele verschiedene Symptome einer Demenz, ebenso viele Ursachen. Demenz kann auch eine Begleiterscheinung einer ganzanderen Krankheit sein, in diesem Fall ist sogar eine Heilung möglich. Da diese Form der sogenannten reversiblen Demenzen jedoch in lediglich etwa 10% aller Fälle auftaucht, haben wir uns inunserer Ausarbeitung auf die beiden häufigsten Formen der Demenz fokussiert.
