Blant temaene som er kommentert finner man pressen, NRK, kjønnsinkongruens, borgerlønn, byråkrati, klimapolitikk, ytringsfrihet, sorteringssamfunnet, Sveriges utvikling, kapitalisme, velferdsstat, islam, utviklingen i USA. mm. Vegard Martinsenstuderte filosofi, matematikk og fysikk ved Universitetet i Oslo, og tok cand.scient.-graden i 1981. Han har skrevet et stort antall kronikker, artikler, og innlegg som er publisert i blant annet Aftenposten, Morgenbladet, Dagbladet, Verdens Gang, Dagsavisen, Norwegian Wood, Ny Tid og Humanist. Martinsen har hatt en rekke verv, blant annet var han i en periode vararepresentant til Stortinget (1989-93). Han var formann i Foreningen for Studium av Objektivismen i perioden 1993-2006, og fra 2002 til 2017 var han leder for Det Liberale Folkepartiet: partiet for individuell frihet.
