Este livro avalia a perceção dos impactos da variabilidade climática na produção aquícola no Estado de Ondo, na Nigéria. Foi utilizado um processo de amostragem em várias fases para selecionar oitenta inquiridos, tendo os dados sido recolhidos através de um questionário estruturado. A análise utilizou estatísticas descritivas e uma escala de classificação de Likert de 5 pontos. Os resultados mostraram que uma maioria significativa identificou a radiação solar (temperatura elevada), os ventos fortes e os padrões de precipitação como factores críticos que afectam as suas práticas de aquacultura. Entre estes, a velocidade do vento foi a mais frequentemente citada como tendo um impacto elevado. A maioria dos inquiridos indicou que a variabilidade climática reduziu a qualidade da água, aumentou a incidência de doenças e alterou os padrões de reprodução. Recomenda-se que as agências governamentais e as organizações não governamentais (ONG) colaborem para subsidiar o custo das tecnologias adaptativas.
