Nel presente volume sono stati preparati vari 4,5-difenilimidazoli 2-sostituiti mediante reazione a riflusso tra benzile e diverse aldeidi aromatiche. I composti sintetizzati sono stati caratterizzati mediante analisi dei dati fisici e analisi spettrale. I composti sintetizzati hanno mostrato attività analgesica contro stimoli nocivi di natura chimica e termica. L’attività analgesica è risultata significativa nel modello tail-flick e nel modello di contorsioni indotte dall’acido acetico. L’attività antinfiammatoria è risultata significativa nel modello di edema della zampa indotto dal carragenina rispetto al gruppo di controllo. Nel Pheretima posthuma, tutti i composti sintetizzati hanno dimostrato di possedere attività antielmintica. È stata determinata la concentrazione minima inibitoria (MIC) dei composti sintetizzati per i vari microrganismi.
