The expansion of cities and population growth led to the exaggerated consumption of industrialized products thus increasing their disposal. Given the advancement of technologies over the years, products have been changing their composition so that their disposal was enhanced in inappropriate locations causing the contamination of the environment. Within this context, many Brazilian municipalities still dispose of their waste improperly causing socio-environmental damage and loss of quality of life of the population, thus constituting one of the main problems to be mitigated today.
