Seit ihrem Aufkommen im Jahr 2009 sind die Fähigkeiten des 21. Jahrhunderts - Kommunikation, Zusammenarbeit, kritisches Denken und Kreativität (auch bekannt als die 4Cs) - als wesentlich für die Bildung anerkannt worden. Die COVID-19-Pandemie, die 2019 begann, hat jedoch die Bedeutung dieser Fähigkeiten noch weiter unterstrichen, insbesondere im Zusammenhang mit dem Lehren und Lernen von Englisch als Zweitsprache (ESL). Neben den rasanten Fortschritten in den Bereichen Information, Kommunikation und Technologie (IKT) sind die 4Cs-Fähigkeiten für die Gestaltung der modernen Bildungslandschaft von zentraler Bedeutung.Diese Forschungsstudie zielt darauf ab, die Erfahrungen von ESL-Lehrern auf Universitätsebene zu untersuchen, die IKT-basierte 4Cs-Fähigkeiten in ihren Englischunterricht integriert haben. Mit Hilfe eines phänomenologischen Ansatzes wurden fünf ESL-Lehrkräfte aus der Bildungsabteilung einer öffentlichen Universität befragt, um Daten zu sammeln. Diese halbstrukturierten Interviews wurden wortwörtlich transkribiert und thematisch analysiert, um reichhaltige phänomenologische Beschreibungen der Erfahrungen der Lehrkräfte und ihres Einsatzes von IKT-gestützten 4Cs-Fähigkeiten im Unterricht zu erhalten Die Ergebnisse dieser Studie bieten wertvolle Einblicke in die Erfahrungen von ESL-Lehrern.
