Les plantes sont utilisées depuis l’Antiquité pour soigner et guérir les maladies et améliorer la santé et le bien-être. Les plantes médicinales sont principalement utilisées pour soigner les maux d’estomac, la fièvre, le rhume et la toux, les saignements et les blessures, les infections fongiques, les brûlures, les douleurs rhumatismales, les piqûres d’insectes, la grippe, la diarrhée, la jaunisse et la cirrhose. Les plantes médicinales fournissent des médicaments à base de plantes aux populations. Les médicaments à base de plantes sont également appelés remèdes à base de plantes, produits à base de plantes, produits médicinaux à base de plantes, phytomédicaments, agents phytothérapeutiques et phytopharmaceutiques. Ces plantes médicinales sont d’une grande importance dans diverses formes galéniques. Dans le cadre de cette étude, seize plantes médicinales ont été collectées dans la région de Bhimtal. La collecte de médicaments a été effectuée en avril et mai 2014.
