MapReduce è diventato un framework efficace per l’elaborazione e l’analisi di dati di enormi dimensioni in sistemi di grandi dimensioni. D’altra parte, è necessario costruire un traduttore SQL efficiente e flessibile per MapReduce. La necessità di un traduttore SQL ottimizzato, in grado di gestire query avanzate, è molto sentita e può aumentare le prestazioni dell’analisi dei dati con la crescita dei BigBig Data. Hive supporta query chiamate HiveQL. HiveQL offre le stesse funzionalità di SQL, ma è ancora difficile gestire query SQL complesse. Inoltre, Flink è diventato un framework efficace per l’analisi dei Big Data in sistemi di cluster di grandi dimensioni. D’altra parte, FLink non supporta alcun linguaggio di interrogazione. È quindi necessario progettare e implementare un traduttore da SQL a FLink per eseguire query SQL su FLink. Il lavoro di questo libro adotta queste limitazioni dei traduttori SQL e propone due contributi considerati come traduttori SQL-to-MapReduce per migliorare l’analisi dei Big Data.
