Nos últimos anos, o advento da aprendizagem profunda (AP) revolucionou vários domínios, incluindo os cuidados de saúde. Este documento apresenta uma revisão e uma análise das técnicas de aprendizagem automática (ML) e baseadas em DL para a deteção e o diagnóstico de doenças cardiovasculares (DCV), que se encontram entre as principais causas de mortalidade a nível mundial. Há uma necessidade imediata de investigação sobre os factores que afectam as DCV. Isto exige técnicas inovadoras para detetar a doença numa fase precoce e ajudar a reduzir a taxa de mortalidade. No presente documento, a análise foi efectuada com base no trabalho de investigação realizado por investigadores no domínio da identificação das doenças cardiovasculares, juntamente com as inferências retiradas da revisão efectuada.
