Através de uma análise feminista, explora a forma como o neoliberalismo e o tráfico de droga afectam desproporcionadamente as mulheres pobres, negras e de minorias étnicas.Embora a teoria da escolha racional explique alguns aspectos do tráfico, o estudo conclui que não pode explicar totalmente a coerção e as desigualdades sistémicas que orientam as acções de muitos traficantes, em especial os que se encontram na extremidade inferior da hierarquia.
