كنت أسمّيها سكينة العشوائية... أستند في ذلك إلى فوضى أحاديثها، وهيئتها المبعثرة من الرأس حتى القدمين. أمنحها من عطاء الجيب ما أستطيع، وأمنع عنها ما لا أستطيع، وكانت تحتفي بالمَنْح والمَنْع بفوضاها نفسها وابتسامتها الطاعنة في السنّ. يقول معمّرو الحدود ممّن يبست عظامهم، وخرّفت رطانتهم، وانحنت ظهور أعمارهم، إنّها من أسمرا... إريترية نزحت إلى بلدتهم بتقاليد النزوح المعروفة نفسها، ولأسبابه المعروفة نفسها أيضًا، وتقول فوضاها... إنّها من بلاد الشايقية أو الجعليين أو الرباطاب... لها عيونهم الجلفة ولسانهم الساخر، وشلوخ نسائهم الغائرة في الخلد. ويقول اسمها سكينة المرسي إنّها من ريف مصر ربّما. وعندما تُسأل شخصيًّا في ذلك، تدقّ على أرض الحدود اليابسة بعنف وتقول: أنا من هنا.I used to call her ''Random Sakeena''... based on the chaos of her conversations and her scattered appearance from head to toe. I gave her what I could from my pocket, and I prevented her from what I couldn’t. She celebrated both giving and withholding with her own chaos and a smile that cut through the years.The seniors at the borders, whose bones have weakened, and whose youth has withered, with their backs that have bent with age, say she came from ''Asmara''... an Eritrean who migrated to their town with the same known traditions of displacement, and for the same known reasons as well. Her chaos says she is from the land of ''Shaigia'' or ''Ja’alain'' or ''Rabatab''... as she has their greyish eyes and their mocking tongue, and the qualities of their women that stay forever engraved in your memory. Her name, ''Sakeena Al-Morsi'', says she’s from the Egyptian countryside.But when she is asked personally about it, she firmly strikes the dry ground of the borders and says, ''I am from here.''
