Tyranny Unmasked is a political treatise written by John Taylor of Caroline, first published in 1822. The book is a critique of the American federal government’s expansion of power and its potential to become tyrannical. Taylor argues that the Constitution’s system of checks and balances has been weakened, and that the federal government has been granted too much power, particularly through the commerce clause. He also criticizes the Supreme Court for its interpretation of the Constitution, arguing that it has allowed the government to expand its power beyond its intended limits.
