Die Madagassen sagen: „Gesundheit ist der größte Reichtum'. Trinkwasser zu trinken, hygienische Latrinen zu benutzen und sich die Hände zu waschen, entspricht diesem Sprichwort. Die Trinkwasserversorgungs- und Abwasserentsorgungsanlagen in Voninahitrinitany I wurden dank verschiedener Sensibilisierungsmaßnahmen der Fokonolona erfolgreich realisiert. Die Beschaffung von Trinkwasser ist für die Bevölkerung kein Problem mehr. Die Wasserqualität gibt keinen Anlass zur Sorge, und die Infrastruktur wurde modernisiert und den geltenden Standards angepasst. Durch den Bau der Sanitäranlagen wurde die Notdurftverrichtung im Freien beseitigt; jeder Haushalt hat eine eigene Latrine und Dusche errichtet. Das Projekt hat somit im Fokontany positive Veränderungen bewirkt.
