Il settore dei trasporti, essendo una delle principali fonti di emissioni di CO2 e di consumo energetico, ha un ruolo fondamentale nel processo di cambiamento climatico. Per affrontare la questione sono diventate necessarie varie iniziative e progressi tecnologici. Questo studio è un’analisi quantitativa di come i progressi tecnologici e le diverse iniziative sostenibili influiranno sulla riduzione delle emissioni di CO2 e sul consumo energetico nei prossimi anni. Sebbene l’ambito dello studio sia limitato al solo livello cittadino, lo scopo è quello di comprendere come le emissioni di CO2 possano essere influenzate a livello micro, in modo da poter essere moltiplicate su scala macro (nazionale).
