Il presente studio è incentrato sulle prestazioni del trasferimento di file su IPv6 tramite tecnologie cablate e wireless. La metodologia adottata per questo progetto si ispira alla metodologia a spirale, utilizzata come linea guida per la creazione di una metodologia specifica adatta al progetto stesso. Tale metodologia si articola in cinque fasi: pianificazione del progetto, progettazione e sviluppo, implementazione, test e risultati, e infine la redazione di un rapporto di analisi. È stata creata una struttura di suddivisione del lavoro (WBS) per definire in modo più dettagliato l’ambito complessivo del progetto, con un approccio sistematico a ciò che deve essere fatto in ciascuna fase fino al completamento del progetto. Abbiamo sviluppato una nostra rete, ovvero una rete IPv6 composta da reti cablate e wireless, per raggiungere gli obiettivi del progetto. Per monitorare le prestazioni del trasferimento dei file utilizziamo diversi strumenti di monitoraggio quali PRTG, Colasoft Capsa e CommView. I dati sono stati raccolti più volte per garantirne l’accuratezza e l’affidabilità.
