Niniejsza książka zawiera dogłębną analizę współczesnych przemian w pasterstwie w północnym Kamerunie, naznaczonych stopniowym przejściem do sedentaryzacji w kontekście intensywnej presji na ziemię i wielu niestabilności. Ujawnia również stopniową utratę mobilności pasterskiej, która była jednak podstawowym mechanizmem adaptacji ekologicznej i społecznej w środowiskach Sahelian.
