Ce livre présente des données précises sur la condensation de la vapeur sur un tube horizontal instrumenté enveloppé de fils de deux diamètres différents. Des fils de cuivre, d’aluminium et de laiton avec des pas différents sont testés dans cette étude pour étudier l’effet de la conductivité thermique sur le transfert de chaleur. La conductivité thermique joue un rôle important ; pour les deux diamètres de fils enroulés sur le tube horizontal, l’effet de la conductivité thermique est évident pour tous les pas testés, mais il est plus dominant dans le cas du pas le plus faible. Pour les deux fils testés, les meilleures améliorations du transfert de chaleur par rapport au tube ordinaire sont constatées à un pas de 4,0 mm pour tous les cas de tubes enveloppés de fils.
