O objetivo deste livro é partilhar com os leitores as investigações experimentais sobre o efeito dos parâmetros de corte controlados, nomeadamente a velocidade de corte, a taxa de avanço, a profundidade de corte, a concentração do fluido de corte e dois fluidos de corte com diferentes óleos de base na rugosidade da superfície (Ra) do aço EN8 ou AISI 1040 durante a operação de torneamento, utilizando o design de experiências, o método de design personalizado, a análise de variância, os gráficos de alavancagem e o perfil de desejabilidade utilizando o software JMP para estudar as características de desempenho na operação de torneamento CNC em molhado. A análise revela que a taxa de avanço tem o efeito mais significativo na rugosidade da superfície (Ra) e que o valor da rugosidade da superfície não difere significativamente entre os dois fluidos de corte diferentes utilizados.
