W niniejszym badaniu zbadano wpływ pestycydu cypermetryny z grupy pyretroidów na morfologię i szkielet larw rybek guppy (w wieku od 5 do 45 dni) oraz wpływ tego pestycydu na histopatologię skrzeli i mezonefronów tułowia 45-dniowych młodych rybek guppy. Wyniki uzyskane w niniejszym badaniu wykazały, że cypermetryna wykazuje działanie teratogenne na rozwijające się larwy rybek guppy w postaci zewnętrznych wad rozwojowych, zmian szkieletowych, a także poważnych zmian histopatologicznych na skrzelach i nerkach w porównaniu z grupą kontrolną. Na podstawie tych wyników w niniejszym badaniu zaleca się unikanie przypadkowego rozpylania tego pestycydu, zwłaszcza w pobliżu źródeł wody, ze względu na jego niekorzystny wpływ na organizmy niebędące przedmiotem zwalczania, a tym samym pośrednio na zdrowie publiczne.
