After being pulled into the past, Ellie finds herself facing a whole new adventure away from the walls of the British fort that has been her home for the last two years. Leaving behind everyone and everything in her life, she is starting anew, unsure what is ahead of her. Navigating life in Colonial America has been a challenge for Gen-Xer Ellie Sorenson, but with the help of Captain Thomas Burke, she managed to learn more about living in the eighteenth century than she ever would have imagined possible, even if it was limited to life inside a military fort. How different will life be inside a Native American village? Are the Iroquois as savage as the colonists believe them to be? Still trapped in the past, Ellie does what she must in order to survive, which includes depending on others, as much as she hates doing so. After two years in the past, this is not about to change anytime soon. Women have little rights in the era in which Ellie has found herself and are no more than the property of men. Despite this, she manages to carve out a home. When the war comes to an end, will she be able to hold onto it? What will she have to do to survive while facing the new challenges that continue to be thrown her way? *This is the second in an eight-book series, to be read in order. These are not standalone books.
