In diesem Werk wird das Grundmodell der Real-Business-Cycle-Theorie einer ausführlichen empirischen Evaluation mit westdeutschen Daten der Jahre 1975-1994 unterzogen. Die Evaluation erfolgt anhand einer umfassenden Analyse der Zeitbereichimplikationen eines geeigneten kalibrierten Modells, nach spektralanalytischen Kriterien und mit dem methodischen Instrumentarium des NBER (Burns-Mitchell-Methodologie). Ferner werden Ansätze zur Maximum-Likelihood-Schätzung des Modells entwickelt, in Simulationsstudien validiert und schließlich zur Schätzung der tiefen Modellparameter eingesetzt. Es wird eine nicht-walrasianische Modifikation des theoretischen Grundmodells vorgeschlagen, die die Kointegrationseigenschaften deutscher Makrodaten sehr viel erfolgreicher abbildet als das Standardmodell und gleichzeitig bessere Ergebnisse in den entwickelten Evaluationsverfahren erzielt.
